Dr. Galstan is a graduate of the University of Virginia with an undergraduate degree in Biology, from Medical College of Virginia / V.C.U. School of Dentistry with a D.D.S. degree, from A.T. Still University with a Master in Public Health (with Dental Emphasis), and his post graduate general practice residency program in general dentistry from East Carolina / Pitt County Memorial Hospital. Dr. Galstan is one of only 2 dentists in the world (that we are aware of) to hold a Master of Public Health degree, a Master in the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), and a Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition Award in the AGD. These degrees and awards require years of extensive training, post graduate education and testing and are nationally credentialed. There are only 2300 dentists in the entire country to hold Masters in the AGD, less than 300 hold the LLSR Award in the AGD, and only 2 have all 3 of these degrees and awards.

Dr. Galstan is the President-Elect of the Virginia Dental Association (a non-profit organization of more than 3,500 members dedicated to bettering the profession of Dentistry), and is also a Fellow in the Virginia Dental Association, the American College of Dentists (the oldest major honorary organization for dentists. Its members have exemplified excellence through outstanding leadership and exceptional contributions to dentistry and society) and the International College of Dentists (the oldest and most prestigious international dental honor society) Dr. Galstan and both of his sons are Eagle Scouts.
